Word machine guns

You have probably noticed that politicians often do not answer the questions they are asked. Instead, they keep talking and talking and talking without making a point, or they bring up other issues and keep talking and talking and talking about them...

Of course, they do this because (1) they do not want to appear as though they have no answer, (2) by talking and talking and talking, the issue eventually becomes blurred or diverted (they wish), and (3) they either do not have an answer or have one they do not want to give.


The problem is, this happens in science, too.


There are quite a few scientists who just keep talking and talking and talking without making any points, throwing in some fancy words here and there, as if they know something (but actually they do not).


I call them "word machine guns". Or BS dispensers.


Let's ignore them. They are a waste of your time.
