Last Friday, I gave a lecture about my research to the class, called "Neurons & Synapses", that I had been coordinating for the last 4 years. It was hard work to create a whole new material for the course like this as neuroscience is so broad. But, most importantly, it has been fun and fruitful work. Now the course is taken over by Prof. Corette Wierenga, and I think it is going well.
I gave the lecture as a part of "Expert Lecture", a series of four lectures in the course by speakers who talk about their own research.
I gave a talk summarizing my work on both cognitive science and (the cellular-level) neuroscience. The talk was titled "Emerge!", as the emergent properties in the nonlinear dynamics are the key, I believe, to understanding the brain.
And that was my last contribution to the course.
