I ordered 1 meter of a silicone rubber sheet. I needed it to protect the equipment of the new rig and it was supposed to be just 60 EUR.
Well, I thought that was what I did...
But instead, I ordered by mistake 50 meters of it, because the website has several options of the lengh but the difault setting was always 50m. That was something I did not know and sent the URL to the secretary. The cost was 1600EUR. I only realised the problem when I saw the giant roll carried in by a forklift.
Sigh.
I have been trying to be careful with spending the budget of the project. But all of the sudden I wasted 1600EUR just to get a 1m silicone sheet...
It was no one's fault but me. I got upset and just went home.
How stupid was I, why couldn't I pay more attention to things I do?!?
Oh well, next day, a supporting stuff told me that she was discussing the possibility of returning it to the company. And yesterday, they agreed and she started the process for returning it.
Life is beautiful.
Except, my friends are saying now, "Let's try to think how the remaining 49m can be used for someone building a house!", "Let's contact ASML (a Dutch semiconductor supplier) and make a deal!", or sending me this link about an 8yrs old boy buying 70000 lollipops, https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/kentucky-boy-orders-70000-lollipops-moms-phone/. And my student was saying how it can be used in the next 100 years...
Pfff... wonderful people...
